-----------------------MINUTES ---------------------------
Mike LaBonte conducted the meeting.

Call for opens and IBIS related patent disclosures:

- No one declared a patent.

AR Review:

- Mike reformat minutes template
  - Will use results of next AR item

- Mike make list of last time each person attended
  - Mike showed the list
  - Bob let's clean it down to 1 year
    - Also keep Randy

- Anders draft external load/data BIRD
  - Done

New items:

Mike showed the draft BIRD from Anders
- Anders: One problem is being unable to set measurement points
- Mike: We may need a formal declaration of probe points
- Anders: Provisions for stimuli have been added
- Moshiul: That would be in the IBIS file?
- Anders: Yes
  - We could also have the stimulus external
- Eckhard: Should we define if it is NRZ?
  - It may be hard to see how many edges there are
- Lance: There can be only one model name?
  - What about diff pairs?
- Mike: In some cases diff pairs have different models
- Anders: Then two names are required

Mike showed a presentation on golden waveforms:
- Anders: You can't give a pin number
- Bob: We got the scoping wrong
  - Test load is scoped by the model
- Anders: The spec says Test load is a subparam of Test data
- Anders: Do the driver and receiver have to be in the comp?
- Mike: Would like to have Test data and Test load top level
  - Also move Receiver_model to Test Data
- Mike: We might want external files to contain multiple test data sets
  - They would have to be named
  - There could be hundreds of data sets for one IBIS file
- Anders: A multicolumn approach might be more efficient
- Bob: We need to document typ/min.max columns
- Anders: I had planned on separate files for typ/min/max

Mike showed the [Test Load] spec
- Mike: Test Load gave us a keyword explosion
- Anders: If they already have it in SPICE that would be easiest
- Bob: It is still mapped through the subckt terminals
- Mike: the internal probe points should be brought out as terminals
- Bob: Can we use [External Model] and [External Circuit]?
  - They would have to be named
- Anders: That would allow more languages
  - But IBIS-ISS is best for interconnect
- Moshiul: Some people may want to use touchstone for the test load
- Anders: IBIS-ISS supports that

Anders: What do we do next?
- Bob: We could upload this BIRD draft
- Mike: It has to be clear which part of the spec is for the external file
  - Also it would be good if the same keywords would work internal or external
- Anders: We should not encourage having it internal
- Mike: Sometimes I embedded external .pkg files into the .ibs file
  - It is convenient to hand someone just one file
- Bob: IBIS-ISS is external only
- Mike: Stimulus should be close to the data
- Bob: IBIS-ISS has no V source, or it could have had stimulus
- Anders: Wee this remain in the old text format?
  - Pictures would help
- Bob: That is in the works

Next meetings:
- Nov 9 & 16 too close to summits
- Next meetings Nov 23 and Dec 7

Nov 23 agenda:
- New BIRD draft

Meeting ended at 12:00 Eastern Time.
